Artist Statement

In my work, I thought about how particularities emerge as structure, how a whole comes from fragments of a necessarily incomplete picture.  One’s identity can be discovered through a city of things, which is made up by a variety of distinctions and separations. I often combine different techniques such as dry point, "chine-collé" and intaglio printed viscosity method with different layers of water or oil based inks to achieve multiples effect.

Trained as an architect, I want to establish a dialogue with my environment.  The abstract shapes in my work conjure particular associations, like pieces of a puzzle, always imperfect, always generative.  It is meant to be a visual record of many experience and memories, which in its minute ways, contribute to the source of my creative yearning.  It is both subjective and objective and anywhere is everywhere and all time is one time.
